ESG performance of critical importance for long-term success

About us

Luma Africa is a holding company established to develop and integrate Luma Holding’s tin, tantalum and tungsten assets in Africa. The company, headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda is a 100% owned subsidiary of Luma Holding Ltd, a European industrial group focused on the mid-market investment across the Central and Eastern Europe, Balkans and East-African regions.

Our vision at Luma Africa is to responsibly mine, process  and smelt minerals sourced in the East African region to produce high quality tin metal for our customers in Europe and North America. The proximity of our smelter to the source of minerals, easy access to East African ports and consumption of electrical energy generated entirely from renewable sources result in a lower carbon footprint of our tin throughout the value chain. Furthermore, Luma Africa’s investments in mines, infrastructure and processing facilities contribute to the region’s economic development, creates direct job opportunities and supports the hosting communities.

Luma Africa’s investment cornerstones:

  • Full vertical integration with upside potential
  • Responsible production and ESG-driven investment
  • Tin as a critical metal for the green energy revolution
